Dr. Atao Liu, a performer and educator based in New York, is celebrated for her captivating orchestral performances. Regularly featured as a guest musician with orchestras such as the American Symphony Orchestra, American Ballet Theater, and various others, she enthralls audiences both nationally and internationally. Her 2017 tour with the NCPA Orchestra of China across the United States, alongside performances in China and collaborations with the Beijing Symphony, marked significant milestones in her international journey. An accomplished educator, Dr. Liu has guided students to successful admission to The Juilliard School Pre-college. Her handcrafted reeds have earned acclaim from both professional and aspiring bassoonists. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at Manhattan School of Music, a master’s degree from The Juilliard School, and a doctoral degree from Stony Brook University.
