Christine Browning

"I believe that every student is an individual and should be taught with his or her particular needs in mind."

Originally from Ohio, Christine Browning moved to New York in 2010 to study at the Manhattan School of Music. She has been singing ever since she was a young child.

Open to teaching students of any age, she believes “in teaching age appropriate repertoire where the student can apply their natural talent with learned concepts from warm ups or concepts that the in-particular students’ needs to improve upon. I particularly feel that students under 16 need extra special attention because their bodies are constantly changing as they mature. They are to be taught with great care, careful planning, and individualized attention.” When teaching young children, she “caters to their short but focused attention spans by having a plan and changing topics rapidly but always reviewing the new material that was covered. “I believe that every student is an individual and should be taught with his or her particular needs in mind. Everyone learns differently and the teacher should be willing and have the knowledge to teach for each student.”

Christine enjoys collaborating on song cycles, singing opera, and listening to music ranging from pop music to musical theater and opera. Some of her favorite artists include Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Elton John and Beyonce. She has also directed several choirs and vocal directed over fifteen musicals since 2006. She states that Mirella Freni and Bernadette Peters are her biggest influences in addition to her grandmothers, parents, and teachers.
