Yuko Kato, piano

Yuko began her musical studies in Los Angeles, where she studied at the Colburn School of Performing Arts. She studied chamber music, played harpsichord and keyboard in the Colburn Chamber Orchestra, and studied piano with Dorothy Hwang. She also appeared as soloist with the Glendale Community College Orchestra and the Orchestra da Camera. Yuko pursued her B.M. degree at Northwestern University where she studied with David Kaiserman and graduated with honors in 2000. She moved to New York City to study at the Manhattan School as a student of Jeffrey Cohen. Yuko has won prizes in several competitions, including the Artists International Competition and the Northshore Musicians Club Competition. She gave her New York debut recital in Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall in 2004. Currently active as a teacher and performer, she plans to complete her Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at Manhattan School of Music in 2007.
